MissionGiveSM collects information directly from users, third parties, and automated technologies. We rely on information provided by users and Charities and do not independently verify all submitted data.
2.1 Information You Provide
You may provide the following:
- Name
- Email address
- Mailing address
- Phone number
- Donation details (amount, frequency, history)
- Charity preferences
- Messages to nonprofits
- Consent preferences (e.g., sharing identity with Charities)
Important: MissionGiveSM does not store or directly process full payment card information. All payment transactions are handled by PCI-compliant third-party payment processors.
2.2 Automatically Collected Information
We may collect:
- IP address
- Device type and identifiers
- Browser type
- Operating system
- Pages visited and time spent
- Referring URLs
- Interaction data
This is collected via cookies and similar technologies.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive limited data from:
- Payment processors (transaction confirmation, status)
- Fraud prevention services
- Analytics providers
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Process and facilitate donations
- Provide donor records and summaries
- Enable Charities to receive funds
- Maintain and improve the Platform
- Provide customer support
- Communicate transactional and service-related messages
- Send marketing communications (only if opted in)
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud or misuse
- Comply with legal obligations
Transactional communications (such as receipts and service updates) are sent regardless of marketing preferences.
MissionGiveSM provides donation confirmations and summaries for recordkeeping purposes. Official tax documentation is issued by the receiving charity.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may use aggregated or de-identified data for analytics, reporting, and platform improvement purposes.
4. Donor Privacy and Anonymity
By default, donations are anonymous.
Your personal information is not shared with recipient Charities unless:
- You explicitly opt in during the donation process; or
- Required for legal compliance or fraud prevention.
Once donor information is shared with a charity (based on user consent), that charity becomes independently responsible for its use, storage, and protection of such information.
7. Data Retention
We retain information:
- While your account is active;
- As needed to provide services; and
- As required for legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Financial records may be retained for up to seven (7) years or longer if required by law.
8. Data Security
We implement safeguards including:
- Encryption in transit (SSL/TLS);
- Tokenized payment handling;
- Access controls; and
- Monitoring and auditing.
However, no system is completely secure, and no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is guaranteed to be secure. You use the Platform at your own risk.
MissionGiveSM does not guarantee the absolute security of information.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location (e.g., California, EU/EEA), you may have rights to:

By using the Platform, you consent to this transfer.

12. Data Controller and Processor Role
MissionGiveSM acts as:
- Data Controller for user account and platform data; and
- Data Processor (or intermediary, where applicable) for certain donation-related activities on behalf of Charities.
Charities are independent entities and responsible for their own compliance once they receive donor data.
MissionGiveSM does not endorse or guarantee the activities, financial practices, or use of funds of any charity listed on the Platform.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy periodically.

- The "Last Updated" date will be revised accordingly.
- Material changes may be communicated via email or platform notice.
14. Third-Party Links
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. MissionGiveSM is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. Users are encouraged to review the privacy policies of any external sites they visit.
